Istanbul

A diverse, multi-cultural city, Istanbul is the capital of Turkey. Structures in the city seem almost miss-matched from a Roman Hippodrome to Egyptian obelisks. They are all relics of bygone eras of the multiple empires that have owned the city during its history.

Izmir

As is common with old Turkish cities, Izmir (formerly Smyrna) has gone through many different owners from the Greeks, tot he Romans, to the Ottoman Empire. Today, it sports many monuments and museums as testament to its history and is home to the Velvet Castle which overlooks the city.
